G'day, everyone.
I found a great new poetry website call WonderHaikuWorlds. It's brilliant. There are some very active, inspirational poets operating on the site, and you can get translations into hindi, hindustani, romanian and various other languages. It's a very international site!
I'll be posted most poems to both sites, but budding poets of haiku, senryu, or any of the other Japanese forms should definitely check it out. There's also places for cinquains, essays and other forms of writing.

The little devil on everyone's shoulder.
Nice to be thought of.
I'm working AND studying full-time at the moment, so I just haven't been able to make the time for creativity lately.
Don't worry; I'm still around. I'm just about to post a little half-finished tanka that fell into my head today.
Thanks for thinking of me.

Are there tanka specifics besides the line lengths? I've only just bumped into them.

While a haiku should be a single idea (often with a perspective shift or change that increases our understanding of that idea) the tanka can be two linked ideas.
The second idea should increased the description and understanding of the first, and vice versa.
WonderHaikuWorlds is a great resource for these sorts of things ([link]).
Cheers,
